Summary
Basic research is oriented on formulation of new original scientific knowledge in the area
of modelling and simulation of forest fires and fires in closed and semi-closed areas.
Research on mathematical foundations of models of various types of fire spread models
and their implementation in advanced simulation systems is important
for better understanding the models themselves, their abilities and limitations in real fire conditions,
as well as for proper simulation results interpretation and further development of simulation systems.
