Social Event
The DDECS’04 social event will be organised
on Tuesday, April 20. We will start with an excursion visiting
two famous areas of the High Tatras - Starý
Smokovec and Štrbské
pleso with a walking tour to Hrebienok
or Popradské pleso (2 hours)
in dependance on the April’s wheather (sportive wears
and shoes would be necessary). After the excursion we will
enjoy a banquet in the hotel Academia.

Štrbské pleso (1 355 m) is the
highest situated Tatra locality, existing around the lake
with beautiful view of the indented siloutte of the Tatras
peaks, ski-centre and ski jump tower.

The area of Starý Smokovec (1 010
m) is situated on the southern foothills of the Slavkovsky
štít peak. Over the Starý Smokovec Hrebienok
is situated (1 285 m), the famous skiing centre and the starting
point to a lot of hiking tours. There is a nice view of Lomnický
štít peak (2 632 m).
